I listened to the President tout his jobs creation bill like a high pressure salesman, the same approach he used before with the first stimulus bill and the Affordable Patient Health Care Bill as well. The end result of this high pressure tactic was increased national debt and decreased jobs.
I believe our country would have been better served if neither of these ill-conceived pieces of legislation had ever made it out of Congress. The first stimulus bill increased our national debt by more than $1 trillion. The Affordable Patient Health Care Bill increased the national debt more, increased the amount of people not insured and actually killed jobs by the uncertainty this bill created in the business world by issuing an unconstitutional mandate by the government to force its citizens to buy something.
Mr. Obama’s comment that extending unemployment benefits would create jobs only confirms the obvious fact that he is clueless when it comes to job creation in a free market society. People will not look for work if the government pays them not to work. The only way for the government to assist in lowering the unemployment rate is to stop over-regulating the private sector and to help create stability in the market place. This jobs bill will only increase our debt, therefore drowning us in more interest owed.
The President’s message last night was to spend more money – money that we do not have — on ideas that did not work the last go around. We need to repeal Obama Care, lower corporate tax and capital gains tax rates and let businesses create the jobs that will feed the needed tax revenues of government. Thanks but no thanks, Mr.Obama, I am not buying this time and I hope our legislators aren’t either.
The President said that all he wants is for both sides to come together and solve the problems of this nation, which is hard to believe when given his actions and associations. When he was in AZ addressing the border lawsuit he said, “Republicans want to build a moat and fill it with alligators to keep illegals out.” At the AFL-CIO rally in Detroit with Jimmy Hoffa Jr., he stood idly by while Hoffa spouted off, “We need to take out those S.O.B.s,” referring to the Republicans and Tea Party people. Mr. Obama, actions speak louder than words, and yours speak of divisiveness, not leadership.
America needs better.
